Federico Brandani (1520 –1575) was an Italian sculptor, as well as being a well-known plasterer belonging to the Mannerist school. The Nativity scene for the Oratory of San Giuseppe in Urbino is considered one of his masterpieces.

In the centre of the vaulted ceiling with lunettes, the half-fresco painting of the ‘Delivery of the Tables of the Law’ is framed by a hexagonal gilded stucco frame, tripartite according to classical rules. Opposite is the polychrome fireplace, on which the elegant Brandanesque riser is grafted.
